About the progRAM
Competitive programs run mid-September to the end of June at Commonwealth Place. Age group water polo starts at U10 and offers age group instruction right through to Adult/Masters. Competitive Water Polo requires increasing amount of aquatic proficiency upon entry correlating to the age of the athlete. If you are unsure that your child will meet age group entry requirements, our staff will be happy to arrange testing and offer some test practices before registration takes place.

Saanich Water Polo School (SWPS) invites aspiring athletes to experience the excitement through our ongoing free tryouts. Our introductory programs seamlessly ease newcomers into the dynamic world of competitive water polo.

Prerequisites
To enroll, participants should be confident swimming and treading in the deep pool - Fill out the form at the bottom of this page to schedule a free assessment / placement try out!
Children expressing interest in competitive water polo find their place in the SWPS U8, U10, U12 Competitive Program. For middle and high school students, we assess swimming ability, placing them into appropriate practice groups. As they progress, they transition into competitive age groups:
U10 (Grommet Co-Ed)
U12 (Atom Co-Ed)
U14 (Bantam - Gender Specific)
U16 (Cadet - Gender Specific)
U19 (Youth - Gender Specific)
Parents can schedule a placement test for their child at any time.

Commonwealth Place Legacy
Commonwealth Place has been the starting point for many water polo stars, including those who began their careers with Minipolo. Our sessions are conducted by nationally certified Saanich Water Polo School coaches, ensuring a high standard of instruction.
