Victoria Guide
Travel and Climate:
Victoria, where the competition is held is on an island (Vancouver Island). It is accessible by ferry from Seattle and/or from Vancouver. Teams can fly into Seattle and/or Vancouver and take the ferry from either big city to Victoria. Victoria has an international airport, thus teams can fly directly into Victoria as well. There are also a large number of connection flights to Victoria from Seattle or from Vancouver – and other major US and Canadian cities. Sometimes the ferry option is less expensive and more convenient, and sometimes it is the connecting or direct flight. Your local travel agent can help map out a few possibilities for your team. You can find information as well on the www.tourismvictoria.com web site. Just click on the “getting here” section! The climate in mid February is very mild by Canadian standards. Usually in the low teens in Celsius, or 50-60 degrees Farenheit. It is enough to bring a sweat shirt or light coat.
