Held in shallow water, this partnership program between Saanich Water Polo
School and Saanich Recreation is the best place for your child to start in
the sport of water polo.
 Sessions are available for kids ages 7-9 at Commonwealth Place
and Gordon Head Pools. Besides teaching fundamental water polo
skills, parents will be amazed at the overall improvement in swimming and
general aquatic endurance. Children get to play a game at every
practice, and sessions wind up with a round robin
tournament.

Ball
Put the ball in front of a
youngster, and he or she will soon forget the supreme effort it takes to
chase the ball, pick it up, tread high in search of team mate, or make
that shot at the end of a long, strenuous sprint.
 Certified
Coaching
Children are taught by NCCP
certified coaches, ensuring that young athletes learn the basic skills
correctly. Program is run in sessions, similar to swim
sets.
That First Step
Passing Minipolo marks entry into deep water
competitive water polo program. After completing the Mini Polo
series, children receive a Level IV Water Polo Certificate and Ribbon from Saanich Water Polo School.

For
children who are able to swim 10 strokes of front crawl without touching
the bottom of the pool! Includes ball handling skills, sport specific
swimming techniques, and a game every practice. The session ends with a
round robin tournament and collectible participation ribbons for
everyone.
